Infuse for 3-5 minutes and inhale the aromas as you slow down and anticipate that first satisfying sip. Pour in heated, not boiling water (approx 85°). Tip: Keep mint from overtaking your herb garden by planting in a bottomless pail, or other container, and sink it into the soil. Older plants can be divided up every 4-5 years. Mentha is easy to propagate from cuttings (see Planting & Propagation ). Let me share my secrets to the perfect cup of tea… Place a pyramid in your favourite cup. Space plants 1-2 feet apart in all directions and mulch to retain moisture and keep leaves clean. After much experimentation, the Round Leaf Mint was my choice for the Mint Lavender tisane along with pure peppermint and the ancient and refreshing Egyptian spearmint. Similar to Apple mint, however the plants are far more. The Australian Mint Bush is a favourite mint of mine, adding a distinctive note to herbal teas. One of the best varieties to grow producing sweeter and more flavourful leaves than other types.
